Antonie C. Onyemaizu is a Legal Consultant at Crestle Zanders. He has extensive experience in commercial contracts, corporate structuring, and investment advisory in the power and infrastructure sectors. He has been actively involved in the Nigeria power and infrastructure sectors privatization programmes. He was one of the lawyers that advised the Nigerian Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission in relation to the concession of key national infrastructures, and, in particular, participated in the structuring and review of the Nigerian Ports Concession Agreements.

Antonie has severally provided legal opinions on government policies and legislations in relation to power and infrastructure privatization, as well as Public-Private Partnerships. On the instructions of government and government departments, he handles extensively legal drafting and reviews of legislative drafting.

In the on-going sale and divestment Government’s interests in the national power generation and transmission companies, Antoine continues to provide valuable services to investors and the government. His past experience includes conducting legal due diligence on power facilities, providing legal risk analysis and advice in relation to acquisition of government interests, and assisting in the preparation of bidders’ pre-qualifications, Expressions of Interest an Requests For Proposals.

In addition to working within Crestle Zanders’ Power, Infrastructure and Corporate and Commercial Practice Groups, Antonie is part of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Practice. He has litigated complex commercial contracts and corporate law cases in all superior courts in Nigeria, including the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has conducted arbitration and mediation proceedings, and has appeared before arbitral tribunals as Counsel.

Antonie obtained LL.B (Hons) from the Abia State University, Nigeria; undertook professional training at the Nigerian law School, Abuja, Nigeria; was enrolled as a Solicitor and Advocate of Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2003; and in 2011 was admitted into the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom.
